At Healthy Genie, we always try to include Millets in our Recipes in different ways. Be it in Salads, be it in Healthy Bowl or be it Soup we try to include Millets that make our recipe extremely nutritious.
One such Recipe is Pearl Barley Soup. It’s quite popular among our customers. The chewy, nutty barley makes it so much more interesting than using just pasta or rice.
Ingredients –
Barley
Whole Red Lentil / Masoor
Carrots
Tomato
Spring Onion
Ginger-Garlic paste
Coriander
Black Pepper Powder
Recipe –
Heat the Oil, add Ginger-Garlic paste, Spring Onion Whites and sauté on a medium flame.
Add carrots, Masoor, Barley, Salt and water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
Allow steam to release before opening the lid.
Transfer the mixture to the pan and add tomatoes, spring onion greens, coriander, a little salt and black pepper powder and mix well.
Bring to boil and cook for few minutes till all the ingredients get mixed up well.
Serve hot.
